Supporting My Son's New Hobby

I’m nothing if not a fan of innovation and trying new things, I always take the side of trying something new, venturing along new paths.  My son told me he wanted to start a garden inside because he was getting into cooking.  He wanted to grow parsley, sage, rosemary, even thyme; I thought him quite an ambitious young lad.  I always like to encourage my son in his new projects so I decided to help him out with his new indoor garden.  Now, I made him do all the research to figure out what he needed, but I helped him finding a good deal on the stuff.  We needed a bunch of led grow lights of course to simulate sunshine.  Also, these ones are really low energy which of course saves money.  Also they last a long time.  You can never really have too many especially if they are top quality grow lights because you need different colors for different types of seedlings and at different stages of their growth.  You may think all lights would be the same because heck, there’s only one sun, but remember, you’re in a world without sun when you’re doing indoor growing so you might as well keep all those prejudices back in whatever town you’re from.  If you have any questions about what’s available, we did all our shopping at http://www.thelashop.com/ and their selection really helped us figure out what we needed. It’s not just light, it’s all the wiring and the ballasts and reflective grow tents. It’s kind of expensive at the end of the day, and you might think I should just go to Jons or Vons and get some dried spices that others have already grown and while yes that would be more cost effective this is way better and more delicious.  Making a lasagna with ingredients your grew yourself, in the basement, is an invaluable experience and also it gives the grower, my son, an exceptional sense of accomplishment, which of course it is.
